I'm just posting quickly to brag that as of 7:15 this morning, I'll be ending my work week with a little less than half of my WPA remaining! Yee haw! I know I've said before that I feel like I need a few extra points whilst staying up all night at work, but sometimes that leads to going way, way overboard. Like last Wednesday, for instance, when I consumed no less than 20 mini snickers bites that someone had left in our work candy jar. Oy! So this week, yes I did have a snack-a-thon when I got home on Sunday morning from work when I was overtired and should have gone to bed, but chose to plop on the couch and watch E! True Hollywood Stories: Tori Spelling for an hour and eat Reduced Fat Pringles, Baked Cheetos and Cheese slices, BUT, I counted it all, and pulled myself out of the hole. I'm still working on what the solution is to my desire to eat so much when I get home from work. After all, I only stay awake for about an hour, so it's probably not too great for me to eat a feast and then sleep. I'm thinking I probably need to spend a few minutes of my pre-bed downtime making something really comforting and filling like eggbeaters on toast with cheese, an omelette, etc., rather than head home and raid the snack bin. I'll keep pondering on that. I know my situation with my crazy work hours is unique, but I bet a lot of you feel the same way when you get home after 5pm from work.
Anyway, I discovered Lowfat Flatout Wraps at the grocery store this week and I'm in love. HUGE wraps for 1 point. I got the original flavor because I'd planned on making Mexican pizzas with them, but I shall be returning to the store for some of the flavored wraps as well. I do love a good wrap, especially in the summer! My faves are tuna salad and turkey cheese wraps. These are great with a little side dish of fruit for a fabulous summer lunch. This past week, I made a long list of all the stuff I used to love eating when on Weight Watchers. There were quite a few that I haven't made in a long, long time that I'm looking forward to recreating! This week when I go to D's house, I'm going to make crockpot picante sauce chicken- which is so easy: just dump a jar of picante sauce over chicken breasts, cook on high for about 4 hours and then shred the chicken and add to wraps, nachos, quesadillas, burritos, etc! YUM-O. Can't wait!
I can't remember if I mentioned that I'm going to end up renting my house for a while. I just stand to lose too much money right now. Not only in the sale of the house, but also in taxes. Nurses get killed in taxes because every little base rate, shift differential, bonus, weekend pay, etc is taxed separately in our paychecks, and the only way to recoup that is to own property. So, I think the plan will be to lease once I move out in September, and plan on looking at listing it back on the real estate market next Spring. Hopefully by then my builders will be finished building in my neighborhood and the market overall will look a little better, thus, less competition and maybe we can actually make a little money on my house. The poopy part of this is that means D and I will be renting his apartment for a year. But hey, it's 10 minutes from the beach, so I can't complain too much. Now, about those alligator sightings in his neighborhood...
