You don't think I've been perfect since that last post, do you? Nah, that would be too easy.
I think it's safe to assume that all WPA are gone after I folded and indulged in our work July 4th party. Ironically, we held it on Sunday night, and the theme was Mexican. Ha! I made a semi-healthy veggie and bean burrito and consumed a few too many jalapeno flavored tortilla chips with some of that deliciously unhealthy 7-layer dip. Then, I had carrot cake, Which I don't even LIKE. I know, I know. All self control OUT the window during work parties!
Last night I had buffalo chicken pizza, which probably wasn't terrible, but I didn't count points. And in a lack-of-sleep moment of fuzziness, I ordered an iced coffee from Dunkin Doughnuts with an extra espresso shot and when the lady said, "Cream and sugar?" I said, "No, cream and SPLENDA", thinking I'd done a good deed. In my head, I was thinking skim milk, but when she handed me the cloudy, rich substance, I realized I'd zoned out on the whole cream request. So, I drank it and mass stomach upset ensued.
But I'm back on track today. Dave is in town for a work meeting and then has the day off tomorrow and it's our anniversary! I'm busy applying for jobs and cleaning today. And dog sitting. Plan on taking the pup for a walk around the 'hood here in a bit, and then back out for a run/walk after that. I got new Nike's this week, and bought the little chip that you put in the shoe that syncs with your iPod. I haven't fully figured out all the cool things it can do, but I do have it tracking my pace and I did just over 2 miles of a walk/jog on Saturday before work at a pace of 14:00. Not great, but not terrible. And just think, with my new gadget I'll have some drive to keep lowering my pace!
I'm failing at my quest to eliminate diet soda. It's my lifeline. I've scaled way way back, but ultimately I broke and bought a couple two liters of Diet Mountain Dew at the store last night. I just can't do coffee all the time as it upsets my stomach. Tried iced green tea and adding packets of Truvia, but it just doesn't give me that kick that I need. I'll make some regular iced tea after the green stuff is gone. In the meantime, it's Dew time!
