Ugh, another over points night last night. I still have flex points left, and I WAS accountable, which is more than I had been doing, but I'm up 0.8 pounds on the scale this morning. I only got the dog walk in for exercise, because I'd sort of planned on BF going to the gym in my neighborhood's clubhouse with me after dinner (don't like the idea of going alone in there at night since usually no one is in there), but he was too tired to work out after working all day. We did play Rock Band for about an hour, so that's ONE hour I couldn't eat. Haha. I was totally satisfied from dinner (tacos, refried beans), but continued to munch all night. I'm bringing lots of snacks to work tonight instead of just one meal. We'll see how that works since I just love to graze at work too. I'm trying really hard not to be mad at myself. And to know that this is not instant gratification, this is a a life change. One I should have stuck to a long time ago...
Today's to do list includes:
Laundry (must have clean scrubs for work)
Competency Fair for work (we have to get checked off yearly on all the "skills" you have to have to be a nurse in our hospital. Mainly you just have to know how to demonstrate using all the equipment we use. Oh, and do like 50 online modules. So annoying.)
Gym (this may be a quickie, depending on how long the Comp Fair takes). I'm dying to use my new tennis shoes for a REAL workout. I'm a little worried b/c when I wore them for the dog walk yesterday they made my right heel ache a little. And they are supposed to have the plantar support cups in them that PREVENT that, so I'm a little confused. I wear Eccos almost exclusively now, but I'm not sure they are the MOST comfortable for my foot. I have a 100% flat foot, and I'm a major overpronator. I can never seem to find the perfect running shoe. Maybe after I start running regularly I'll spring for a shoe fitting at a running store. Right now I would feel kind of ridiculous going into a running store, seeing as how I just basically have worked up to doing some running "spurts" in between walking. I'm trying to build up to a 5k. I think I really need to sign up for one so that I have an endpoint. That's what all my running friends say to just do- sign up for a 5k.
Ok, I'm hot and in need of a shower before I take off. Today's goal is to CLOSE my piehole for good once my max points are reached today.
Update (not even sure I have any "readers" yet, but it makes me feel accomplished to update this):
Laundry- DONE
Comp Fair- DONE (albeit, possibly the most annoying work-related event I'll do all year. Imagine 100+ nurses in a small room, trying to rotate through approximately 20 stations, plus get fit tested for masks, plus get vaccines, etc).
Gym- welllll, I took the dog on a 30 minute, brisk walk around the neighborhood. Getting home, changing clothes and heading back OUT to the gym would have been pushing it time-wise since I have to work tonight at 7pm. The doggie enjoyed it and he hopefully will be chilled out tonight when BF gets home. The dog is my boyfriend's dog, and he is a sheltie. Read: high maintenance. But, he's old, and if you walk him and get him pooped, he will behave.
So, I just decided to be prout of myself despite not making it to the gym before work. Had it been a normal day, with no annoying comp fair in the middle, I know I would have made it to the gym. More importantly, I didn't let a mid-day, pre-work event keep me from getting at least some activity today.
Tomorrow morning the plan is to come home from work, walk the doggie until 8sh, when BF has to get up for work, and then go to bed. Maybe if I get up in time in the afternoon, I can get in 30 or so minutes of run/walk intervals on the treadmill. If not, I'm not freaking beating myself up. My main goal is just to be active on the 4 days/week that I'm not working, and hopefully at least on the day that I go back in to work. If I don't work out in between my 3 days of 12 hour shifts, it is NOT the end of the world. The sooner I stop beating myself up, the sooner I can get on with real progress and hopefully, weight loss.

Did you ever get your mock guac made? I'd love that recipe.
BTW, I added you to my blog roll on my site.
I did! I will post the recipe later tonight. It's SUPER easy. Even my picky boyfriend liked it!
