Go MOM!

So my mom is here helping me pack. I haven' seen her since the end of May, which is when she had been on WW for maybe a month or two and had lost close to 20 pounds. Well, now she is a size 8 and very close to her goal. Her legs, waist and butt are TINY! I am so thrilled for her, and also, I have to say, it's very helpful to have her here this week to keep me on track. As many times as I have moved in the last decade (8), I have frequently used the excuse of all my dishes being packed up as a reason to chow down on fast food up until the point of being physically ill. A person should not do that to themself! As a return favor, I'm taking her to my beloved Lilly's for one last Tofu Salad. This will be my mom's first tofu salad, and I know she won't be disappointed.

I'm happy to report that DirectTV came out and fixed the issue with my cable after three months of thinking it was an electrical problem. I realize I should have taken care of it months ago, but I've really not been here other than to go to work! Anyway, I am positively REJOICING that I don't have to call an electrician and have my walls hacked into to rewire the cable!!!! An additional nice surprise yesterday is that someone came to look at my house that is for rent! The market, even the rental market here is very, extremely slow. My mom and I decided to break for dinner around the time they were supposed to come look at the place with my property manager, so I don't know yet what the outcome is, but I'm hoping that I hear some positive news today! Fingers and toes crossed!!

On a side note, we ran out to Applebees for dinner last night because there is one just about 2 minutes from my house, and also, because I didn't feel too terrible going there in my workout pants and tie-dyed t-shirt, no makeup and frizzy hair. I was seriously looking forward to the WW version of the french onion soup and was surprised to discover that it is no longer on the menu. In fact, there were only about 3 WW items to choose from on the menu. I chose the Grilled Chili Lime Chicken salad, and let me tell you- it sounds way more exciting than it actually was. I tasted absolutely no lime. To me, it seemed like a bed of greens with some onions, roasted red peppers dumped from a can, a few flavorless chicken strips, some rubbery tasting cheese and a dollop of what tasted to me like reduced fat italian dressing with maybe a hint of chili and lime. I ate maybe half of it, trying to focus on the chicken so I'd feel full from the protein, and then later had a bowl of oatmeal at home. Boooo to Applebee's. Well hey, at least I know I haven't been missing anything.

Off to get some major packing done. I'm so excited to be moving in with my honey! Oh, oh, and I am OVERDUE for a hair appt this Friday, which I am way too excited for. My BFF was going to call the salon tomorrow and see if she could get an appointment at the same time as mine. Together, we might be the two most annoying gals around considering we are BOTH planning weddings. I'm pretty sure all of mutual friends can't stand to be around us because all we do is talk about wedding planning- only, she is way more on top of things compared to me...
